Former home of architect and artist Owen Browne Carter, you'll find the Cathedral, Winchester College, Great Hall, Military Museums, Jane Austin's house and historic High Street all within 500 meters. Everyman cinema and Green Man pub on your doorstep.

Located at the top of the city, in walking distance of fantastic restaurants, cafes and shops, luxury cinema, historic sights, the Theatre Royal, the Cathedral, St Catherine's Hill and water meadows.

Further afield are the Southdowns, the New Forest, Portsmouth and the maritime city of Southampton. The beautiful beaches of Bournemouth are just an hours drive away.

Winchester is on the mainline, an hour journey from London (Waterloo station). You can also travel direct from Oxford, Birmingham and Manchester.

The station is a 7 minute walk away from the apartment.
You can walk almost everywhere within the city of Winchester - definitely favourite mode of transport! But there are plenty of buses and taxi's if required.

Unfortunately there is NO dedicated parking on site. On street parking is permit only. Tower street multi-storey car park is a 10 minute walk away - and is free after 6pm/before 8 am and on Sundays. Payment at this car park is available via Ringo. On street parking is free for 2 hours and in the evenings and Sundays.

We took a trip to Winchester as a short break and to visit the Christmas Markets, great places around to eat, Cathedral was amazing, markets were great, easy walking distance to all from the apartment.

Had a fantastic stay for a long weekend. Location is amazing if you’re looking for a base to explore the cathedral, the great hall and other museums in Winchester. Given, the apartment was walking distance from all of these and the train station. Jim was a great host. He responded promptly to messages and facilitated us leaving bags at the property so we could make the most of our time in the town. Would highly recommend this property as the photos don’t do it justice. It was even more stunning in person.

Lovely flat in a good location. Great if you’re working / staying in Winchester for a few days. The kitchen area is very well equipped The bedding is very good quality too. The check-in procedure could perhaps be streamlined a little bit - though I understand the need for ID verification etc.
